Helium recovery systems / Gas mixing units
Two ways to cut helium cost: recover and reuse the helium from each test, or test with a helium mix where your specification allows.
Why recover helium
Helium is imported, expensive and its price swings with global supply. On most leak test machines, the gas used to fill each part is simply vented after the test. A recovery system captures that helium and puts it back into use.
- Lower helium purchases per part tested
- Less exposure to helium price and supply shocks
- Works with our leak testing machines and many other makes
- Purity monitored by a TCD concentration sensor, with automatic top-up

Indicative estimate: job volume × test pressure × parts per year, adjusted for gas mixing and helium recovery. Actual use depends on fill method, evacuation and losses. Ask us for a detailed estimate.
Technical specifications

Gas mixing units
Many leak specifications can be met with a helium–air or helium–nitrogen mix instead of pure helium. Our gas mixing units blend helium to a set concentration and supply it to the test machine, so each fill uses less helium.
- Helium–air or helium–nitrogen mixing to a set percentage
- Concentration checked by a TCD-based helium analyser
- Stand-alone or built into the test machine
- Can be combined with helium recovery

| Flow capacity | 5 to 200 Nm³/h |
| Outlet pressure | 2 to 10 bar |
| Analyser | TCD based |

Questions about helium recovery and gas mixing
How does helium recovery work?
After each test, helium from the part and chamber is drawn into a recovery unit instead of being vented. The unit filters and compresses it and returns it to storage, topping up purity with fresh helium only when needed.
Can helium recovery be added to an existing machine?
In most cases, yes, including machines from other makers. Share your machine details and we'll check the connection points and space.
